Land Survey Tools and LiDAR Data Processing
Modern land base surveys are conducted with total station and global positioning system (GPS) data collector technology. Land boundary surveys and photogrammetry control surveys are transposed and transformed into a common coordinate reference system. Electronic field books are feature driven to simplify field data capture of ambient site data for downstream design processes. This same technology also supports the continuous management of infrastructure owned by federal, state and local government agencies.
A surveying solution must support traditional land surveys plus the efficient processing of LIDAR data (3D terrestrial and aerial photogrammetry). Feature driven processing produces electronic field books and associated DGN/DWG graphics. Data thinning processes in the surveying products reduce large LIDAR data sources to manageable files for designing capital improvement projects
The Bentley solution includes Bentley PowerSurvey, GEOPAK Survey, and InRoads Survey. These products are available individually or within civil engineering product suites such as PowerCivil for North America, GEOPAK Civil Engineering Suite and InRoads Suite.
