    linking Louisville and Southern Indiana
  • Reconstruction of the Kennedy Interchange (Spaghetti Junction),
where I-65, I-71 and I-64 converge near downtown Louisville

The project is managed by a Bi-State Management Team from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).

More information on this project can be found at The Ohio River Bridges Project web site.

What Happens During the Design Phase?

Design work is divided into six sections led by section design teams that individually focus on the character and needs of the communities in their section. During the design phase, decisions will be made about the bridges to be built, the precise right-of-way needs, and aesthetic treatments such as landscapes, sound barrier locations and types – culminating in a final construction schedule.
