Bentley’s integrated water solution provides tools for master plan preparation to enable intelligent planning for population growth while delivering clean water safely with the least possible disruption.  The solution ensures the quality of planning and design, which ultimately reduces disruption risks and improves system reliability.

Software tools for intelligent planning, include:

• Scenario management:
  Creating and setting up scenarios in Bentley products is easy to do. Scenarios allow modelers to compare an unlimited number of “what-if” situations for simulating the impact of increased capacity on the system for example.
  
  
• Demand and load allocation:
  The included LoadBuilder module automate the load allocation process. It enables modelers to leverage existing GIS data such as billing information or land use polygons, to estimate water demand (water distribution) and flows entering the systems (sewer and stormwater), and to analyze the impact on these systems.
  
  
• Long-term simulations and flood prevention:
  Long-term simulations in SewerGEMS and CivilStorm estimate the occurrence of floods and flood volumes over a whole range of historical data.

• Automated fire flow:
  Users can quickly and accurately establish the ability of the water distribution network to provide adequate protection against fires. They can calculate how much flow is available at any hydrant or group of hydrants in the system based on pressure and flow constraints dictated by local regulations.
