Engevix Engenharia designed the $150 million, 48-megawatt Hydropower Plant São Domingos in Brazil with project team members spread across multiple offices. It was critical that information be available to the geographically separated partners, including an important turbine supplier in China. This collaborative approach enabled Engevix to negotiate a 45 percent better deal than was available from local suppliers. |

Department of Energy—Biomass Cogeneration Facility

The U.S. Department of Energy contracted with Ameresco Federal Solutions to finance, design, construct, operate, maintain, and fuel a new biomass cogeneration facility in Aiken, S.C. This $150 million plant replaces a deteriorating coal-fired facility, saving $35 million per year in energy and eliminating 100,000 tons of greenhouse gases. The plant will produce 20 megawatts of electric power. |
