These projects demonstrate that by providing new ways to efficiently explore alternative building designs without manually recreating the detailed design model for each scenario, generative design has accelerated design and documentation efficiency. At the same time, it has enabled designs that truly explore dramatic new possibilities in form, structure, sustainability, and performance.

BDP was retained in a $2 million project for IKEA retail centers in China. The initial goal was to define the design process leading to an optimized solution for roof design. An environmentally friendly approach and careful utilization of resources has led to higher demands on the efficiency of architectural design and the need for interdisciplinary design teams working closely together. |

Villas in the Sky is a mixed-use, 34-story tower placed at a unique location in the King Abdullah financial district in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Henning Larsen Architects sought to ensure a geometry that could be implemented on site and achieve a building standard that would be seen as a world-class example of sustainable development with LEED certification. |

41 Cooper Square

The new academic building for The Cooper Union, 41 Cooper Square is a stacked vertical piazza organized around a central atrium to encourage social exchange at the 150-year-old architecture, art, and engineering learning institution. Through highly coordinated scheduling and effective teamwork among the owners, owner representative, architect, and construction trades, the team successfully overcame a range of unique challenges during design and construction. Capital cost was $150 million. |
