Inlet hydraulics
Use built-in customizable libraries with inlet dimensions and characteristics.

Inlet hydraulics: Determine intercepted flow for the piping network, and bypassed flow to be routed to selected bypass targets.

  • Design using the U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) HEC-22 methodology
  • Select from grate, curb, slot, ditch, and combination inlet types
  • Compute headloss with a variety of methods including FHWA HEC-22 and AASHTO

Network hydraulics: Solve for subcritical, critical, and supercritical conditions with StormCAD's robust algorithm*.

Use Manning, Kutter, Darcy-Weisbach, and Hazen-Williams to calculate friction losses, and choose circular, box, arch, or elliptical sections shapes.

*StormCAD uses a gradually varied, standard-step algorithm. For a dynamic engine that solves the full Saint Venant equations, check out Bentley's CivilStorm.
