Bentley Instrumentation and Wiring 8.9.3 has the ability to design a cable that is inside a panel. Cables can be changed from external to internal and vice versa if needed.
When a cable is created you have the option to specify that the cable is internal. This cable can now only be connected to terminals strips, fieldbus bricks and devices inside that particular panel. New functionality has been added to the connect dialog to allow you to swap the source and destination view of the cable when connecting.
Cables created from the Layout Designer Component Bar and dragged onto a layout can be set as internal at the point of dropping the cable onto the layout. This causes the cable to “disappear” inside the panel.
Internal panel cables are colored blue on the Layout Designer Component Bar and filtering buttons have also been added. The panel right-click menu options have been enhanced to allow you to “Connect Internal Panel Wires” or “Connect Internal Panel Cables.”
