Because of the user-friendly Excel environment and the database field tree, which allows you to map fields directly to the project data, clients find the templates easy to customize to meet their specific needs. Datasheets provides a field tree that enables you to quickly link regular Excel cells to specific database fields. This enables dynamic data to be transferred between the document and the database.

Electronic Synchronization

Because Bentley Datasheets uses Excel as its engine, the datasheets can be electronically transferred to suppliers or other personnel that use Excel. These individuals can edit the datasheets in native Excel, return them to the project and update the project data with the new values.

Interface

Bentley Datasheets can be accessed through either Bentley Instrumentation and Wiring or Bentley Data Manager. It uses the Microsoft Excel engine to produce both instrumentation and equipment datasheets. Datasheets ships with 48 ISA S20.XX-based instrumentation datasheet templates.

Completed datasheets may be saved as templates for use with different tags, significantly reducing both datasheet production and data entry via electronic synchronization.
