Soil-Landscape Map Nyabing-Kukerin Area Department of Agriculture, Western Australia
The Nyabing-Kukerin soil-landscape map is the latest in a series of Land Resource maps covering the agricultural area of Western Australia. The map presents soil and landform information at reconnaissance scale (1:150,000) to help improve land use decisions made by planners, researcher and land managers to develop more sustainable land uses within the region.
CADscript was used extensively in the production of the base map for ordering various layers of information. CADscript fonts were used throughout the map and Corporate Montage's Quill software was used for importing and setting out the legend of soil-landscape map units. CADscript V10 was used to generate the final .eps plot file output.
The ability of CADscript to combine raster and vector data in a high quality output product was used in the production of this map. |

Barrington Tops National Park Tourist Map Land and Property Information New South Wales. Department of Lands (Australia)
This tourist map was produced in MicroStation utilizing CADscript and Quill. The map covers Barrington Tops National Park, Mount Royal National Park, Barrington Tops Reserve plus nature reserves and state forests contained within the surrounding area. It was the second edition of the map but the first to be electronically compiled and cartographically enhanced.
As data was sourced from two different organizations, CADscript's resymbolization techniques allowed line styles to be changed quickly without the need to individually convert linestyles of the original data. Other CADscript features used included Graduated Fill to visually indicate average temperatures and average rainfall, Transparent fills, Flexi Text, Line Caps and Line Join. The place EPS function made it simple to place images like the background and location map into the MicroStation file. Table Ordering in CADscript was essential in achieving the final desired map presentation. It allows levels to be moved to enable the correct visual effect of the map. |
