Integration with other AutoPLANT applications

AutoPLANT Raceways uses the same project structure as Bentley's AutoPLANT P&ID, AutoPLANT Piping, AutoPLANT Structural and AutoPLANT Isometrics applications with both 2D and 3D data in the same database. If other application sets are used, the 3D user will see a full list of line numbers to select from when placing raceways. Line numbers can be entered into the database using Data Manager. If the user is only responsible for the detailed design phase of a project, Data Manager and Datasheets can be used in conjunction with the 3D data.

The program architecture takes advantage of the latest AutoCAD technology to produce intelligent, three dimensional production models under demanding deadline constraints.

Spec-Driven Design

AutoPLANT Raceways provides sample database catalogs of tens of thousands of components from which manufacturer-specific specifications may be produced. The Spec Generator program enables you to build and customize the database specifications used with particular projects or clients. Specifications can also be edited or modified to suit unique requirements, and any number of specifications can be created. These specifications are available in imperial, metric, and/or mixed-metric versions.

Material take offs (MTO)

AutoPLANT Raceways has automatic generation of material take offs and other configurable reports. The reports are compatible with standard office software such as Microsoft Access or other popular formats.

Automated orthographic drawing creation

AutoPLANT Raceways has utilities to automate creation of 2D orthographic drawings. These drawings are  referenced from the model so any changes to the model will update the orthographic drawings. AutoPLANT Raceways has tools for annotating elements with information pulled from the database like coordinates and elevations.

Flexible working modes

The V8i (SELECTseries 3) Edition introduces a new Briefcase mode technology. This allows designers that do not need the work-sharing features of the project to work independently with less administration and setup. Using the same technology large projects can easily move models between projects or model disconnected from the project or restore individual project models from backup.
