How to Create a Winning Submission

2. Align Your Project With What Judges Want

Judges are looking for projects that:

  • Provide quantitative, measurable, numeric data (where applicable)
  • Exhibit a sustainable way forward, both economically and environmentally
  • Demonstrate innovative use of technology to meet project goals
  • Overcome challenges, no matter how big or small the scale of the project
  • Leverage information modeling to create truly integrated projects, which in turn deliver intelligent infrastructure


3. Develop a Detailed Project Abstract
Judges place a strong emphasis on the written portion of a Be Inspired submission. The abstract is the one and only opportunity to showcase the breadth and depth of your project. Be sure your submission stands out from the rest by:

  • Developing a detailed and concise abstract in 250-1,000 words
  • Defining the project goal and how it was achieved
  • Explaining how obstacles and challenges were overcome
  • Providing examples of benefits and time/money saved by utilizing Bentley products and services
  • Supplying quantitative, measurable, and numeric data
  • Including all aspects of a project (don’t focus on one silo)


4. Collect Supporting Images, Files, Animations

  • Required Items:
    • A minimum of three high resolution images (300 dpi or higher resolution)
    • TIFF, JPEG, or EPS format- Files must not exceed 100 MB (to submit larger files please email
  • Additional Files:
    • We encourage you to submit additional images, models, animations, and other design files, including: TIFF, JPEG, EPS, DGN, DWG, DXF, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, or SWF
    • *Please compress your DGN, DWG, DXF, and FLV files as a .zip archive before uploading (15 files maximum)
