Bentley Products Used

  • Bentley MXURBAN

Engineers in a New Zealand office of MWH reaped large productivity returns when they began using Bentley MXURBAN for urban renewal road projects. MWH, which operates throughout the world and employs a staff of 6,000, is a global leader in resource development, infrastructure management, and enterprise solutions. The company has worked on many of the world’s largest infrastructure projects. The Hamilton Design Centre is one of 22 MWH offices in New Zealand and was the first company office to test and apply MXURBAN.

"Buildings, curbs and footpaths that cannot be changed border most urban jobs," comments designer Glenn O’Connor. "MXURBAN lets you mold your design around these by displaying the position of all the job constraints on your plan, profile and cross section views of the design model. These views can be displayed simultaneously and changes are made in real time, so a change to your cross section is instantly reflected in the plan and profile views. This is immensely helpful in complicated urban jobs, which are peppered with services and need to be designed cross section at a time."
