Project objectives
Identify and investigate areas potentially contaminated by centuries of industrial development

Fast facts
A composite of historic information, maps,

During the Industrial Revolution, Oldham, located in northwest England, was the center for a thriving cotton industry. This brought with it prosperity, but also left a legacy of possible contamination that required investigation to determine its extent and potential to cause harm.

Specific questions to be answered to satisfy statutory requirements included: Which land is contaminated? What is it contaminated with? What was the history of land use over the centuries? How has the use of the buildings changed over time? The answers were provided through a Bentley solution.
