Summary:

3D laser scanning is firmly embedded in the AutoPLANT work flow in a cost/time saving manner and has recently been fused with the latest VR technology already used in incident training. The use of laser scanning during FEED has reduced the project risk due to early availability of correct information. New scenarios are being developed for the use of virtual reality in process analysis, maintenance, and HSE.

Furthermore, a material management system has been developed to handle the construction phase of AutoPlant projects.
This system combines data from (bulk) MTO's, the isometrics, availability of prefab and erection material on site, and purchase orders in order to control the mechanical construction phase.

Recorded at Be Conference London 2007
