Summary:

Water utilities need to identify how much water is being lost from water networks and where the losses are occurring. These losses are important both for operational and planning reasonsas well as for reputation.

Learn how an optimization-based approach can simultaneously quantify and locate water losses using hydraulic model calibration that is formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem which is solved with a genetic algorithm. The method is developed as an integrated framework of hydraulic simulation and optimization modeling. This modeling process will lead to increased operational efficiencies and lowered costs at water utilities.
