Advancing GIS for Infrastructure Duration: 0:5:33
Presented by:  Styli Camateros, Vice President, Bentley Geospatial
Summary:

This eSeminar will explain Bentley’s geospatial strategy. The eSeminar looks at the intersection of GIS technologies and engineering applications for infrastructure design and management, and it explains how and why the needs of those building infrastructure is different from other geospatial applications.  The strategy is based on six drivers for change; diversity, modelling reality/3D, multi-disciplinary projects, openness, engineering users and workflow.  The geospatial strategy and drivers are illustrated through detailed, real-world case histories.  The eSeminar ends with a walk through of Bentley Geospatial’s product and solutions strategy.

What you can learn:
  • How Bentley is differentiating itself in the GIS solutions market
  • Why diversity of data leads to indexing and advanced ‘find’ concepts rather than data aggregation
  • How modelling reality improves decision-making and renders the impact of infrastructure development comprehensible on a human scale
  • How multi-disciplinary projects are changing the way we work and require new platforms to support collaboration in a distributed enterprise/organization
  • How openness is giving customers new advantages through avoidance of proprietary technology cul-de-sacs
  • Why engineering users need planning, design, modelling, analysis and facilities management in a single environment
  • Why workflow needs to be focused on organizational productivity
  • Where new Bentley products such as Bentley Map, Bentley Cadastre and Bentley Geospatial Server fit in
