Booster Pump Station With Preliminary Water Discharge Facility
Khanty-Mansi, Russia

The greatest challenge of this project’s design is its complex design comprised of several connected facilities (process site, industrial zone, administrative and common buildings, and engineering facilities). Specialists from many different disciplines have taken part in the design: surveyors, technologists, architects, sanitary engineers, electrical engineers, specialists in CAM, and telecom.

Use of Bentley solutions allowed work in parallel for the different specialists on the same objects, which accelerated design time, reduced mistakes, and improved quality. Shifting to Bentley technologies allowed the firm to be competitive. In fact, work volume has increased by eight in the last four years and productivity has increased by six with the same number of personnel.

Ust-Luga
St. Petersburg, Russia

In a commercial sea port in Luzhskaya bay in the Gulf of Finland that Peter the Great is once said to favor, the Ust-Luga universal reloading terminal is now in operation. Comprised of fuel oil and diesel fuel tank farms, pump stations, block valve stations, and in-site and interblock process pipelines, the oil storage facility is in an area closely scrutinized by the public.

To ensure environmental protection and uninterrupted operation, a classic project implementation was not suitable. ProjectWise Lifecycle Server integrated all project stages, provided version control support, and enabled 3D modeling that has allowed designers to develop multi-version systems. The application of 3D via Bentley solutions produced 3D and enabled the cooperation of multidisciplinary developers over the lifecycle of the project.

EPC -- High Density Polyethylene Plant Expansion
Zulia, Venezuela

Y&V Ingeniería y Construcción was charged with the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up of the High Density Polyethylene (HPDE) Plant Expansion located in El Tablazo, Venezuela. The objective of this project was to expand the production of high-density polyethylene from 16 t/h for varied average grades up to 20 t/h for grade-specific of 7000F with the premise to maximize existing facilities usage.

The 3D model was generated through the effort of several teams working together. The use of AutoPLANT allowed the firm to execute the project successfully. Workflows that benefited from the use of Bentley software included defining volume areas and levels in buildings, designing piping components, and checking clashes using Bentley Interference Manager.
