Recently, leading European building industry executives gathered to guide each other and the industry. The central topics of this event were chosen in response to critical new technology-enabled methodologies that are rapidly reshaping the building professions.
These leaders in architecture, engineering, and construction shared their organizations’ best practices with Building Information Modeling (BIM) during morning seminar sessions, and moderated think tank sessions in the afternoon.
These critical new methodologies will be particularly relevant to the grand scope of design and construction that will accompany the Olympic games to be held in and around London in 2012. A review of successes in the design and operational management of facilities at prior Olympics and other major events preceded an inspiring keynote session by Lord Sebastian Coe, director of the 2012 Olympic Committee.
The day’s activities were hosted by Achim Menges, studio master of Emergent Technologies at the Architectural Association and 2005 BE Awards of Excellence recipient for Educator of the Year. This exclusive gathering was held in the heart of London at the Sofitel St. James on Friday, 4 November 2005.
Bentley is pleased to have had the opportunity to sponsor this inspiring event, and to make its informative and thought-provoking sessions available here online. For more information on BIM, the day's activities, or future executive summits, please contact us.
