Powerful and Flexible Standalone Mapping
Labeling Automation and Enhancement
Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping now includes tools to create dynamic labels from feature properties. Users can create custom maps labeled with one of more properties of the feature. All of the usual MicroStation text symbology options are supported. Labels can be saved as text using the annotation tool.
Edit in Data Browser
The data browser can now be used to edit the properties of any editable feature. Users can edit multiple features at once, simplifying the process of mass attribute updates.
Overlay Results Reporting, Buffer/Overlay (Tolerance Option)
Results from overlays and buffers are now saved as permanent features and can be viewed in the data browser.
Polygon Split/Merge
Any polygonal feature can be split and merged with the new split and merge tools. Any rules that are defined in the Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping project will be applied to the resulting attributes. The new split and merge tools simplify the maintenance of polygon data sets.
Joins Between Features
Features with common properties can now be joined for improved query and reporting. Once features are joined, the properties become available for thematic mapping, labeling, and other property-driven tools.
Interoperability - GML Import/Export
The interoperability tools have been improved with the addition of GML 3.1.1 support.
Promote DGN Element to XFM
The new promote tool simplifies the conversion of existing digital data into intelligent Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping features. Properties can be applied during the conversion process. Convert elements to features individually or by selection set or fence. Simple CAD data can now be easily imported into Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping, simplifying the process of building and maintaining complex data sets.
ProjectWise Links and DGN Links Support with Oracle Spatial Persistence
MicroStation supports the ability to link files and images to features in the DGN file. If a user is working in an Oracle Spatial environment, Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping will recognize these links and store them in a specific attribute in the Oracle Spatial table. When features containing these links are queried, Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping will recognize the link and restore it for immediate use.
i-model Export (for usage in ProjectWise Navigator)
An i-model is a read-only file that contains all geometry and properties for a particular project. It is useful for transferring design information among various applications. Being read-only and self contained (all references and properties in one file), it can also represent the state of a project or map at a particular point in time. Bentley PowerDraft for Mapping can publish map models and contents, including properties and associated data sources, to the i-model format. All Bentley applications can be used to read this file.
Data Browser
A new Data Browser application has been added for displaying the results of a
query using the new search tool or for browsing the various feature instances
available in a session. Multiple feature instances can be browsed at once with
each feature class presented on its own tab. Columns can be filtered and sorted
interactively, hidden, and renamed much like any modern spreadsheet. The
results of a query or browsing session can be saved in a variety of formats
including CSV, HTML, and XML.

Print Preparation
The Print Preparation application has been enhanced to include 1) multiple viewport support 2) overlapping viewport marking 3) user customizable through VBA post processing 4) coordinate labeling tool 5) direct PDF creation.

Search / Query
A new search tool has been added which provides the ability to create comprehensive custom searches on any feature class contained in the session. The results of a search tool query are displayed in the Data Browser.
Oracle Single-Sign-On (SSO) / Windows Integrated Authentication
Support for Oracle Single-Sign-On (SSO) which uses Windows integrated authentication has been added to the Bentley Geospatial Administrator and Interoperability applications. Use of this functionality lets you quickly establish connections to Oracle using your Windows credentials.
Enhanced Display Only option in the Scripting application
When previewing results in the Scripting application, use of the Display Only option now creates a semi-persistent display that is only cleared when another script or primitive command is started. This provides the ability to perform windowing operations such as Window Area or Zoom to further inspect results.
ProjectWise Connector for Oracle Client Enhancements
For those users with access to the ProjectWise Connector for Oracle services and client license, support for new Oracle Spatial functionalities have been added including live database documents, time enabled features, versioning, pessimistic locking mode, and conflict resolution.
Oracle Spatial X and Y Scale Support
It is now possible to specify X Scale and Y Scale columns in the Register Feature dialog in the Bentley Geospatial Administrator. These columns will maintain the values of the point-cell or point-text scales for each occurrence allowing different cell or text sizes for a given feature instance. These values are populated automatically on post and on extraction; the cells or text are recreated exactly with the same size. X Scale and Y Scale are unit-less values that simply increase (scale > 1.0) or reduce (0.0 < scale <1.0) or leave unchanged (scale = 1.0) the default dimensions of the element used to represent the point feature. So an X Scale of 2.0 would double the width of the feature; 0.5 would reduce the width in half. The actual size of the feature instance depends upon the dimensions of cell used, or in the case of text, the size of the font and the number of characters in the text string.
Oracle Spatial Decimal Degree Rotation Support
In the Register Feature dialog in the Bentley Geospatial Administrator, it is now possible to specify a rotation field in decimal degrees for text and point rotation, in addition to the previously supported radians value type.
Oracle Spatial Nested Sub-Feature Support
It is now possible to create any number of sub-features using Oracle foreign key constraints between tables.
Oracle Spatial Non-Graphical Sub-Feature Support
It is now possible to create sub-features of type non-graphical using Oracle foreign key constraints between a graphical main table and a non-graphical linked table.
