Project Overview

Using AutoCAD and Bentley AutoPLANT, Atkins' three projects were delivered based on 3D design, with improved rescoping for safety aspects; easier identification of risk areas and major constructability issues; identification of areas for cost savings and reduced on-site delays.

Atkins has won an Award of Excellence from Bentley for its expertise in 3D design, recognizing the company’s achievements in developing integrated 3D visualizations at three United Utilities projects, at Arnside, Stockport and Wigan.

Bentley's BE Awards, held every year, uses panels of independent jurors, selected from accomplished Bentley users and industry experts, to select winning projects from more than 260 nominations at the Awards of Excellence Ceremony - held this year in North Carolina, USA.
