REP. JOSEPH PRESTON, HOUSE CONSUMER AFFAIRS CHAIR, HEADS COMMUNICATIONS PANEL AT 2010 PENNSYLVANIA INFRASTRUCTURE SUMMIT, MAY 20, PENNSYLVANIA CONVENTION CENTER

HARRISBURG, PA – April 22, 2010 – Hon. Joseph Preston, Jr., chairman, Pennsylvania House Consumer Affairs Committee, will lead the Pennsylvania infrastructure communications agenda for the day-long multi-panel discussions at the 2010 Pennsylvania Infrastructure Summit, May 20, 2010, in the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. “There has never been a more challenging climate facing public and private infrastructure professionals in every sector of the Commonwealth,” Rep. Preston said today in Harrisburg. “The 2010 Pennsylvania Infrastructure Summit, held in Philadelphia this year, is the one place to bring those leaders together to address the issues,” he added.

The Third Annual Pennsylvania Infrastructure Summit, organized by TechQuest PA and keystone sponsor Bentley Systems, Incorporated, brings together Pennsylvania’s most innovative and dynamic industry, government and association leadership directly involved in the advancement of the state’s energy, transportation, water and wastewater, and communications infrastructure development.

“We're looking forward to a robust discussion of critical Pennsylvania infrastructure issues,” Kelly Lewis, CEO, TechQuest PA, the summit organizer, said. “And our expert communications panel, led by Rep. Preston, will focus on the sustainable return communications infrastructure development investment brings to every community in Pennsylvania.” The theme of the 2010 summit is “Driving Economic Prosperity Through Investment in Infrastructure.”

“The 2010 Pennsylvania Infrastructure Summit is the only statewide forum we have in place to address these issues across the public and private sectors,” Rep. Preston added. “We’re going to turn infrastructure challenges into strategies for sustaining growth and development in the most vital infrastructure areas.” Lewis pointed to recent developments in “net neutrality” issues in Washington, D.C., as an area that will soon impact broadband plans in Pennsylvania. The day-long summit will attract more than 500 participants and guests from across the public and private infrastructure sectors.
