Brisbane and the surrounding region is in the grip of a drought. It is important to ensure that implementation of the Pressure and Leakage Management Programme (which safeguards water usage across the system) will not adversely affect the ability of the water network to support an adequate level of fire-fighting capacity. Checking the fire-fighting capacity of reconfigured networks is regarded as perhaps one of the most time and labor intensive modeling processes that can be undertaken. Combining WaterCAD with the Brisbane WaterGEMS Modeling System produced a powerful and highly effective desktop analysis engineering system.
