Summary:

The SITEGAS project originates from the need to homogenize the two services managed by AES Torino for the Torino Municipality and surroundings: gas supply and district heating.

The final scope of the project is to have a homogeneous environment where user interfaces and working methods are made uniform, where different user profiles are defined and where it is possible to have access to the various company processes related to cartography and the land information is handled in a consistent fashion. The project includes interaction with non-proprietary databases, integration with the CRM system, with SAP, with software for gas piping network analysis and simulation and an interface with the district heating network analysis, simulation and sizing system (TERMIS).

The project started in January 2006 and is scheduled to be completed in December. The project affects Torino but also some of the cities of the Torino province. It will affect more and more cities in the near future as the district heating network is expanding rapidly.

What you can learn:

Learn how AES Torino SpA's SITEGAS project helped improve interoperability within multiple enterprise systems and departments, and increased workflow efficencies such as:

  • Update of network components through the access permission definitions
  • Analysis support for maintenance planning
  • Support for guidelines for budgets
  • Support for the scheduled search of leakages (maintenance and final results)
  • Data provision for planning (both for network modification and for new sections)
  • Data distribution: formerly only one office could provide maps internally and externally
  • Flow of information to external institutions (such as Municipality, energy authority, etc.)
