RAM Structural System’s Productivity Tool for Lateral Analysis and Design

Product Overview

RAM Frame, the finite element analysis component of the RAM Structural System, performs static and dynamic analysis of building systems subjected to lateral, dynamic, and gravity loads. RAM Frame is tailored at increasing productivity of engineers by calculating wind and seismic loads and by generating load combinations for analysis and design.

RAM Frame accommodates any type of lateral system such as moment frames, braced frames, shear walls, or combinations of these and also supports any building material such as steel, concrete, masonry, a user-defined material type, or a combination of these.

RAM Frame includes detailed reports that can be displayed either on screen or exported to any text format or spreadsheet program. Automatic generation of frame and wall elevations in a CAD DXF format is also provided.

Here are a few comments from our existing users on how RAM Frame is saving them time:

“RAM Frame saved our hides on seismic analysis. It was seamless, RAM Frame let us analyze both criteria with the click of a button. We could see what the impacts were from one set of criteria on another set of criteria literally by changing input values. It made what could have been a huge headache very easy.”
– Tim Lack, Martin/Martin, Wheat Ridge CO

“For the lateral load resisting system for the Nanaimo Aquatic and Leisure Center, McClure utilized two concrete shear walls 18 inches thick by 6 feet long. This was just one of many details RAM helped iron out expeditiously. Because of architectural adjustments, that configuration changed many times and I was able to quickly adjust my designs. Making load and geometry changes with RAM are very easy. It makes us competitive in the sense that we’re able to check what the architect wants to do and give him an answer very quickly.”
