PlantFLOW provides an extensive set of built-in libraries of loss models for elbows, reducers, tees, and sudden contraction and expansion. User loss elements for fixed pressure, K-Factor, or loss versus flow rate are also provided. The resistance of a tee or cross is determined automatically based on a rounding ratio, flow direction, and flow rate for each leg of the tee. You can override automatic losses at any component. Loss models are based on Crane paper 410, Idelchik, and Miller.
Additional models are provided for valves (Cv, K-factor, pressure loss), orifice plates, turbine meters, and straightening vanes; as well as explicit modeling of pumps, compressors and heat exchangers.
PlantFLOW contains libraries of pipe sizes in ANSI, DIN, and JIS (Japanese) standards. You have the option to specify NPS and schedule, or to specify actual OD and wall thickness.
