Work requests can be generated with Bentley Expert Designer for Communications or they can be created and assigned via integration with third-party work management solutions. Once a work request has been created, Bentley Expert Designer for Communications' integration with the Oracle Workspace Manager allows for a named, long transaction workspace to be created. Once a workspace has been created, Bentley Communications is launched from the Bentley Expert Designer for Communications interface and connected to the new workspace.

Support for Disconnected Contractor Workflows

New to Bentley Expert Designer for Communications is the support for disconnected contractor workflows when VPN access to the engineering documentation server is not permitted. Locked and assigned features in the Oracle workspace can be exported for editing by contractors in their environments and re-imported when projects are completed.
