Summary:

See how building engineering modeling (BIM) is benefiting building systems engineers in practice to analyze, design and document their building mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects better and faster.

BIM enables dramatically improved integration of engineering, design, documentation and coordination between disciplines over conventional techniques.

By enabling a better design environment, improved document coordination and quality and more effective communication across the entire project team BIM helps engineers make more informed decision, consider more options and optimize their designs – and ultimately produce better and more efficient buildings more profitably. This session illustrates a joint presentation by an engineering firm using BIM for their MEP work. They will share their early enthusiasm and lessons learned getting started, as well as experiences from a broad BIM experience. Project work and best practice experience will be presented to illustrate the specific benefits achieved.
