Stockholm Water produces and supplies high quality drinking water to more than 1 million people in Stockholm, Huddinge and nine neighboring municipalities in Sweden. They are also responsible for treating and purifying wastewater for the same area.

Stockholm Water operates water facilities and the sewage treatment plants. Other responsibilities include management and maintenance of the pipe networks and pumping stations for water and sewage, and the water reservoirs in Stockholm and Huddinge. They are also tasked with water conservation and lake restoration projects in many of the surrounding areas.

The large number of documents generated and the need for faster, easier access to the data required Stockholm Water to create a digital document management system for projects and drawings.

A pre-study resulted in the selection of Bentley ProjectWise for handling the thousands of project-related documents. For the final implementation, a functional specification was developed describing the system requirements in more detail.
