GenerativeComponents is a new type of parametric design tool which extends conventional interactive modeling by combining these familiar techniques with geometric associativity and scripting.
GenerativeComponents encourages users to represent the underlying design logic, rather than just a graphical representation of the resulting design configuration. This session will introduce the conceptual foundations of parametric design by walking through how these concepts are implemented in GenerativeComponents.
We will also discuss the application of parametric design and the potential benefits that accrue, as well as the change in approach that parametric design supports. Finally we will consider the integration of MicroStation and some of the Bentley vertical applications with GenerativeComponents.
