“We are certainly proud of this distinction, and I accept this award on behalf of our colleagues and users around the globe—a community focused on improving the world’s infrastructure,” — CEO Greg Bentley.

Greg Bentley's complete acceptance remarks:
On behalf of my brothers Keith, Barry, Ray, and Scott—who "incubated" Bentley Systems at the University City Science Center—I'd like to thank the Technology Council for this recognition, and especially to thank our 2000 colleagues worldwide.
Their contributions and perseverance have enabled us to grow to a runrate of about $350 million in annual revenues, while making Bentley software instrumental to the architecture, engineering, construction, and operations of the world's infrastructure!
We started in 1984. So if you’re one of the younger technology companies represented here, be encouraged. It may take as few as 21 years to become an overnight success. Truly, patience and a long-term perspective can ultimately outperform more spectacular adventurism!
It’s important to stress that this region has been instrumental to our success, starting with the universities that produced our key executives and developers—and the general quality of life that helps retain them—and certainly including the world-class professional services providers.
I hope that the success of companies headquartered here can help instill confidence and optimism. In particular, more than half our revenues at Bentley Systems are from outside North America. Technology created here in the Delaware Valley is essential to the world's infrastructure, and both this region and the rest of the world benefit palpably from the engagement that free trade facilitates.
Companies shouldn’t shrink from globalization. They shouldn’t sell short this region's resources, talent, and competitive spirit. No, Lou Dobbs, embracing globalization is not, as you say, “treason.” Quite the opposite, it’s good for the country and good for the region.
The future regional Companies of the Year must compete, but can succeed, globally!
And, to conclude: I also note that most awardees here acknowledge their "investors" at this stage. For Bentley Systems, financial investors have been relatively few and minor along the way, BUT I would certainly like to express appreciation to a particularly essential class of "long-term investors" in our success: the spouses and families of our 2000 colleagues. It is they who supported our long and hard work, and so are very deserving to share in this recognition.
Thank you!
