GHAFARI Associates served as the architect/engineer and 3D integrator on a series of six design/build projects for General Motors where 3D-enabled delivery and BIM were a requirement. The biggest challenge was to facilitate and manage access to thousands of 3D models and associated 2D documents and submittals being constantly updated. General Motors architects and engineers also required continuous access to the active project documentation for timely feedback to the design and construction teams.

The interoperability and scalability of Bentley’s BIM solutions allowed multiple team members to collaborate and access the appropriate information at the right time and with the required level of detail at any point in the project. When coupled with the ProjectWise collaboration system, a strong and scalable solution emerged that can support projects of increasing size and complexity.
