Malcolm S. Walter

Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President

Malcolm S. Walter joined Bentley in 1999 and has served as COO and senior vice president since 2000. Mr. Walter has responsibility for Bentley’s global sales and marketing organizations. Prior to joining Bentley, Mr. Walter was CFO for R&B, Inc., a NASDAQ listed company and a worldwide distributor of automotive parts for aftermarket repair. Previously, Mr. Walter held positions in finance and operations with several technology companies. He is a C.P.A. and worked for Arthur Andersen for six years.

Andy Smith, AIA

Solutions Executive Bentley Systems, Inc.

Andy‘s responsibilities as Solutions Executive include evaluating new architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) business opportunities, defining technical solutions and developing technology partnerships. He is a member of Bentley’s global account team to help users identify their business needs and define practical solutions. Prior to this role he was a Director of Bentley Professional Services a team that provides solution design, custom application development and implementation services. His 25 years of professional experience practicing architecture and consulting have focused on using information technology to empower the AEC industry.

Dr. Ghassan Ziadat

ATKINS

Dr. Ghassan Ziadat is currently the Director of Infrastructure for Atkins Office in Abu Dhabi and the Regional Head of Bridges for Atkins Middle East and India. He joined Atkins in May 2006 initially as the Project Manager for the Design of the Dubai Metro Red and Green lines Viaduct & At-Grade Sections before taking up his current role in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Ziadat is a graduate in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol, UK, where he was also awarded a scholarship leading to a PhD in Bridge Engineering in 1988. Since then he has worked on a variety of Infrastructure Projects incorporating Major Bridges, Tunnels, Aboveground and Underground buildings and infrastructure facilities in the UK, the Far East and the Middle East. Prior to joining Atkins he was a Partner and an Executive Director of Benaim Consulting Engineers responsible for their operations in South East Asia and the Middle East. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Highways & Transportation, The Institute of Concrete technology and the Concrete Society, UK.

Omar Saleh

Microsoft's Oil & Gas Manager, Middle East & Africa.

Omar Leads Microsoft’s Middle East & Africa Operations, and is an executive member of Microsoft’s Middle East & Africa’s Enterprise and Partner Group Leadership Team. Omar's experience involves over 15 years of IT Management, Solutions Consulting and Systems Integration, as well as profound industry experience n Exploration and Production Systems Solutions and Data Management.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Omar occupied a host of Technical, Consulting and Executive positions as he worked for ENI (Egypt), Schlumberger GeoQuest (Middle East), CGG / Chevron (Nigeria), ADMA OPCO (UAE), and Sun Microsystems (ME & Africa). Omar Holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from Ain Shams University, Egypt, and a MSc. In Technology Management from University of Maryland University College, USA.

Oscar Custers

Industry Sales Manager Central Government

Specialised thru the University of Utrecht in GIS, Oscar has been active within the GIS industry for over 15 years accordingly. Oscar held various positions within Bentley, from technical consultancy, Industry Marketing, Business Development up to Sales positions. These years have given Oscar an in-depth knowledge resulting into various notable facts such as the 5 global Geospatial Research Seminars. For 3 of these seminars a book was published. As mostly the activities have been international, the Middle East Region has always gained highest interest.

Santanu Das

Vice President of the Structural Solutions Group

Santanu Das received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1995 and graduated valedictorian of his class. He was awarded a full graduate scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he taught numerical methods and object-oriented programming to engineers. In 1997, Mr. Das joined Research Engineers International as a senior programmer and helped transform the world-renowned STAAD structural line of products into an open architecture platform where other applications could seamlessly integrate.

He helped start a new document collaboration and ASP division for engineers called Web4 in 2000 and became Chief Operating Officer of netGuru in 2003. After selling Research Engineers to Bentley Systems in 2005, Mr. Das currently serves as Vice President of the Structural Solutions Group where he manages the STAAD, RAM, ProSteel and AutoPIPE line of products and their interoperability with other systems. 

Slavco Velickov, PhD, MSc, MA, CEng, BEng

Water Industry Director at Bentley Systems

Slavco Velickov is a Water Industry Director at Bentley Systems Europe in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands. He heads up a team of professionals that deliver Bentley’s Water Solution in the EMEA region with a strong sales growth. Bentley’s Water Solution, built on Haestad Methods line of products, is a high-end comprehensive and scalable package of software products and services that enable customers to map and manage geo-referenced data, plan, design, analyze, construct and manage the clean water, sewer, and storm infrastructure. Slavco further develops new markers and business opportunities with channel partners and added-value resellers. He also leads strategic and research projects for lifecycle management of water infrastructure during tendering and negotiations phases.

Slavco is a chartered engineer and has over 15 years experience in the water industry in all phases of infrastructural projects development, financing and implementation. He has worked on more than 100 projects: clean water and wastewater projects, hydrodynamic and hydrological studies, industrial process plants and facilities, and renewable energy projects. Before joining Bentley, he worked for SKF Water & Environment as a business development manager and for HydroLogic, a Dutch-based water management consultancy as an international director. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Civil Hydraulic Engineering with post graduate specializations in Hydro-informatics and Business Development. His Ph.D. is from the Technical University in Delft.
