Bentley Acquires SACS, Leading Software for Offshore Structure Analysis
Further Extends Its #1 Position in Structural Analysis and Design Software

EXTON, Pa. – March 2, 2011 – Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for sustaining infrastructure, today announced during its first Annual Corporate Update conference call that it has acquired the SACS business from Engineering Dynamics, Inc. SACS is an integrated, finite-element, structural analysis suite of programs that uniquely provides for the design, fabrication, installation, operation, and maintenance of offshore structures, including oil platforms and wind farms. Thirty-eight years of focus on these specialized requirements have made SACS the analysis mainstay for most of the world’s offshore engineers. Virtually all of the world’s energy companies specify SACS software for use by their engineering firms across the lifecycle of fixed offshore platforms.

STAAD(X)Tower Releases SELECTseries 2

The STAAD(X) Tower V8i SELECTSeries 2 release includes the revised design and analysis of different types of monopole structures, such as tapered monopoles, tapered monopoles with round extensions, and stepped monopoles. At present, the development team is incorporating the following features to the monopole and self-supporting tower modules:

• Automatic appurtenance load generation per EIA/TIA-222-F and TIA-222-G standards
• Section configuration for self-supporting tower
• Revising and updating the wind load calculations for SST
