Tips for SELECTserver License Evaluation

As you may know, ELS subscribers can evaluate any software licenses from the ELS portfolio before deploying them for use on projects. However, evaluation licenses require a "site activation key" so they may be separated from products you pay for by reporting use to SELECTserver.

Deploying evaluation licenses to users is as easy as:

1.  Requesting a site activation key from your account manager or Ken Anderson.

2.  Checking out a license from the Evaluation Licensing Portfolio, and

3.  E-mailing the license to users in XML form.

Users can then import the XML license into the Bentley application to be evaluated.

Consolidate Software Usage to a Single SELECTserver

If you haven’t already, now's the time to consolidate multiple licensing servers to manage all of your sites with just one SELECTserver. By managing all sites (BPs) under your ELS with a single SELECTserver (hosted or deployed), you can:

  • Gain complete visibility into software usage across the organization
  • Simplify license administration and reduce risk of non-compliance
  • Leverage consolidated view of software use for improved business and resource planning

Contact your account manager to learn more about consolidating your SELECTservers today. If you would like to verify if you have multiple servers running, please contact Ken Anderson.
